The Highlights
There are tons of fun things in store for you at this year's Clive Festival, including a softball tournament, cardboard boat races, sand volleyball, geocaching, and much more. On Saturday, the pool will be offering half-price admission all day long, plus extended hours from 11:30 am - 8:00 pm. Here are some additional details about some of the most popular events.
Kids' Corner
This year the Clive Festival is giving children the chance to "Journey Into the Universe with the Cosmic Clive Kids Corner!" Shine a Light Storytime will teach everyone about life on a space station. There will be crafts, including firework themed paintings, spaceship foot prints, and alien hats.
The Science Center of Iowa will bring the BOOM!, exploring why things explode. The Star Wars Costuming Club will be demonstrating their light saber skills, and Cheesebox Photo Booth will be on site for fun souvenir pictures.
There will also be inflatables to bounce in, and the ever-popular giant slip-and-slides. This year the Clive Fire Department will host two of these wet wonders.

Mayor's Bike Ride
This traditional ride at 8:00 am on Saturday morning will wind through the famous Greenbelt Trail. You can choose to take part in the 29-mile ride or the family-friendly 8-mile ride. The cost is $10 per person, and you can register online or on Saturday morning between 7 am - 8 am.
Live Music
Some talented musicians will be performing for the crowds this year.

Fireworks
"Thunder Over Clive" will begin at dusk on Saturday, which should be around 9:45 pm. This impressive fireworks display is always a highlight of the festival. There will be a "sneak preview" of the excitement on Friday evening at dusk.
A portion of the proceeds raised for this non-profit event will go to deserving local charities and municipal services including fire, police, library, and parks & recreation. The organization responsible for this amazing annual event is run by a volunteer board. For more information, or to become a volunteer, visit the Clive Festival website.

In between all of the exciting events happening at this year's festival, take a break with us at our family friendly restaurant near Des Moines.
