1 - Invite your friends.
There is nothing wrong with eating BBQ alone, but there are a couple of great benefits to having a few people sharing a table with you. #1- there's a good chance you can snag a sample off of their plate, and #2- it's a lot less embarrassing to get BBQ sauce all over yourself if you're not the only one. You won't have to worry about embarrassing photos either, because your friends will be too covered in their own dinner to dare pick up those smart phones!2 - Be prepared.
The first thing that you should do before heading to our Des Moines BBQ restaurant is to plan your wardrobe. If you wear something light-colored, especially white, you are almost guaranteeing that you're going to spill something on it at some point during dinner. Darker shades of clothing keep your secret safe.
Make sure the napkins are within reach and stocked up. Get your knife and fork ready, but there is absolutely no shame in grabbing a few of our mouth-watering menu items with your bare hands. It's a lot easier to get every single bite of our smoked hot wings and baby back ribs that way. How do you think they came up with the phrase "finger-lickin' good?"
3 - Dig in.
It's go-time! Lean over that plate and take a big ol' bite. As long as you have made the preparations that we suggested above, you should be safe to enjoy the euphoria of savory flavors in your mouth without incident.
4 - Savor the flavor.
This is the important step, the "magic" moment. Every tasty bite will add a little sauce to your fingers, face, etc... but don't worry about that right now. You've got napkins! Close your eyes and focus on the magnificent combination of slow-smoked goodness that you have just taken a great big bite of. 5 - Clean up.
Once you've savored all the flavor your stomach can handle in one sitting, you're probably going to need to clean up a bit. We've got handy wet naps specifically for this task, and a bathroom fully stocked with soap if you really got carried away. Ask your server for a doggy bag for anything you have left over, and maybe an extra bottle of our housemade BBQ sauce to take home with it, and think about how wonderful those leftovers are going to taste tomorrow!
Enjoying a meal at the best BBQ restaurant in Des Moines can be a dirty job, and hey, nobody HAS to do it, but everybody WANTS to. There absolutely no shame in having a little on you when you're done, and everyone that notices will be jealous because they will know you just enjoyed a delicious meal Wobbly Boots Roadhouse.
